Is Your Dream Board Killing Your Dreams?

by Cindy_Zeis

The dream board or what some call a vision board has become a standard tool among those who are looking to get ahead and manifest their dreams. The intention is to create a physical representation of those things we wish to manifest in our world. The idea then is that as we spend time focusing upon those things we wish to have, we activate the law of attraction therefore bringing them in to manifestation and part of our physical reality.
The law of attraction is a very powerful law and the very reason that many who create dream boards only get more of what they don’t want rather than all those beautiful things they do want. The end result is frustration which leads to the belief that the law of attraction is not real and hopelessness becomes a dominant energy once again.
Don’t lose hope. There is a simple fix but one, I must caution, that is not always easy to practice.
The reason the dream board isn’t working is because when we set our gaze to the images on the board, what we most often really see within our mind’s eye is what we don’t have. We may have a very strong desire for the things we see through our eyes yet our internal vision (you may call this belief or equate it to emotion) is set strongly toward the absence of them. When our true focus is set on lack, that’s exactly what we receive more of.
I consider the dream board more of an advanced tool for those who have practiced how to set their internal gaze toward true manifestation. They’ve developed the ability to absolutely bring those visions in to this time, resulting in a flood of ideas and putting themselves in a state that they cannot help but bring them in to their physical reality. I would dare to say that some 90% of those who create dream boards have not developed this ability and are therefore creating a tool that takes them further from their dreams rather than closer.
This is not to say that if you’ve created a dream board you should rip it to shreds or stop believing that it works. What I would recommend is to start taking inventory of the thoughts you have and the words you use when thinking or speaking about your dreams. Do you hold them in future tense or are you able to own them and feel them in your present reality?
Through practice of these skills I’ve come to break free from physical illness, have manifested many beautiful situations in my world, and can now laugh at myself in times when I am moving swiftly toward what I do not want and in that moment redirect myself toward all of the new and wonderful experiences I do wish to have in my world.
The dream board is a powerful tool but one that requires a bit of skill to use. Be joyful in your quest and you will come to know in reality what you hold within your dreams.
